Craft: Billy buttons

So I thought for this weeks creative project I would make my own version of Craspedias aka billy balls aka billy buttons. We've all seen these little flowers around lately, they have become pretty trendy at flower shops. This was a super simple craft, it was just your basic pompom on a stick. And it only took me 30 minutes to make 10 pompoms!

Craft: Chalkboard Menu

Thankfully I am starting to get some routine back in my life. This past month has been very hectic with nursing, visitors and this new mom thing.

With Ray being over 5 weeks old I now have time to fit in cleaning, cooking, outings and creative projects. Yay! Being able to prepare and cook a healthy dinner every night is huge for me. No more freezer meals and pizza, although that was delicious.
Monday night - homemade chicken pot pie!

This week I wanted to celebrate the fact that I get to make tasty meals with my first creative project after baby, a chalkboard menu. Now I get to plan our family meals ahead of time on a pretty weekly menu.

Materials:
Salvaged wood board
Chalkboard spray paint
Acrylic paint
Chalk

1 Month!

So today my sweet baby Ray is one month old! I can't believe it's already been a month, I'm still in awe that I have a child. My life has changed so much, it's so amazing being a stay at home mom I love spending my days hanging out with Ray. Don't get me wrong it has been a challenge, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. And finally my maternity payments have started coming through, so it feels like I`m being payed for all my hard work at this full-time job. I would do it for free though, but let`s be honest it`s definitely a nice bonus!

We've been through just about every baby issue so far; jaundice, blocked tear duct, minor cradle cap (more like light dandruff), baby acne and of course diaper rashes. I must say though coconut oil is pretty much that best thing I've ever seen, and it's natural! I've used it on the dandruff and the rashes it works wonders. And lets not forget about breastmilk, it's full of anti-bodies, it's liquid gold! Breastmilk has helped clear up the acne, scratches on his face (from his little fingernails), the blocked tear duct... I've even put it on rashes, and withing hours or by the next day it's magically healed.

I love being a mom!
Here are some weekly photos from the past 4, he`s grown so much!

Fresh Start

I have tried having a blog so many times, but life catches up with me and I end up with posts few and far between. Now that my full time job is staying at home with my sweet baby, I don't have any excuses not to open my laptop and post at least once a week.

So, new life, new blog. I'm starting this one fresh because I feel like I have also started fresh in life, I've embarked on a journey that started the moment my son made his appearance in this world. Now that I have settled into my new role I am ready to begin doing the things I love once again, alongside raising my boy.

This blog is about all my crafts, DIY projects, home design, inspiration and of course being a new mom; which in itself has homemade projects, recipe trials and keeping up on home life.

Now don't let the title confuse you, it won't be all space related crafts (but I'm sure it will have its fair share since I am such a sci-fi geek). It is about crafts and space as in design space, home space and inner space. Just a smidgen of outer space because I can't resist.

Welcome and enjoy!
